The America COMPETES Reauthorization Act of 2010 provides the head of any federal agency with the authority to carry out prize competitions that have the potential to stimulate innovation and advance the agency’s mission.
Challenge.gov is the central hub of all federally sponsored prize competitions and has hosted over 1150 prize competitions from over 100 hundred agencies over the past decade.
We’ll discuss how federal agencies are using prize competitions as an open innovation mechanism to source technology from a diversity of participants by reducing barriers to participation.
